Flexible spatial modelling with inlabru — background and new developments The R package inlabru provides a flexible and computationally efficient fitting tools for complex spatial and spatio-temporal models. It is a wrapper around the well-known package R-INLA with a streamlined interface to R-INLA with the aim of simplifying the user's code required for fitting spatial models. It also provides additional features that are particularly relevant in applied contexts. In particular, it facilitates point processes modelling for log Gaussian Cox processes, accounts for complex observation processes and allows for non-linear functional relationships. This talk will mainly focus on recent method development available through inlabru illustrated by case studies drawn from ecological and environmental studies.
